Launch: The Adventures Of ROBOB

Surrey based independent publisher Is It Just Media? Ltd has announced the arrival of The Adventures of ROBOB, the “fabulous” new interactive magazine and trading card game for the pre-teen market.

According to distributors Intermedia: “The brand has been trialled through schools and libraries across the South East of England and has proven to be an instant success with kids, parents and teachers alike.

The trading card collection contains 150 beautifully produced robotic characters, known as Life-Bots. Each card can be customised with the exclusive ‘Power Boost’ stickers, available free with the monthly magazine. With strategic use of these ‘Power Boosts’, collectors no longer need to worry about having too many duplicate cards.

Collectors can also submit their own character designs and a selection of these are made into real trading cards, distributed with the rest of the range.

The magazine is an essential resource for ROBOB card collectors, providing exclusive interviews with the Life-Bots, character fact-files, previews and, of course, the ‘Power Boost’ stickers. At the heart of each issue is a chapter from the unmissable ‘The Adventures of ROBOB’ feature story.

In addition, readers are encouraged to write their own stories based around the character set and environment for the trading card game. The best of these stories will be published each month in the glossy, A4 magazine, while a further selection will be published on the website. Readers will also have the opportunity to submit their own comic strips, news stories and pictures for publication in print and on-line.

The magazine addresses key social responsibilities for children in school years 3 to 6 and is a recognised resource of the National Literacy Trust. The product range also promotes a very strong ‘anti-bullying’ message with the backing of Kidscape, the UK’s longest standing Anti Bullying charity.

The Adventures of ROBOB already has a strong, loyal fan-base throughout the South East of England and will be on sale across the country from 23rd August 2012 priced at £2.50, while cards are available in packs of nine priced at £1.00.”
