Lonely Planet Traveller magazine launched in China

Lonely Planet Traveller is now available in China, following a licensing deal secured by BBC Worldwide’s exclusive sales agent, Immediate Media Co, with Straits Multi- Media Inc.

Straits Multi- Media Inc. is one of Taiwan’s biggest magazine and book publishers, and is also launching BBC Knowledge magazine at the same time.

The first issue of Lonely Planet Traveller went on sale from 1 August 2012, with a 377,200 print run and a cover price of RMB 20 (Chinese renminbi).The editorial team includes: Lin Bin, Chen Hao-peng, Yang Ming, Chne Man-lin, Yu Qian.

Immediate Media Co’s Head of Licensing & Syndication, Joanna Marshall, said: “Launching in China is an incredibly exciting phase for Lonely Planet Traveller magazine and a clear signal that the consumer travel market in Asia continues to grow at a tremendous pace.”
