Mag+ runs app design contest

Digital publishing platform provider Mag+ invites iOS developers to “crack open its code” and build new Mag+ reader apps.

The “Unleash the Content, Build Your Dream App,” contest makes available Mag+’s new iOS App Software Development Kit (SDK) to developers worldwide on a non-commercial license to allow them to re-imagine the platform’s reader app. More than £15,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to three innovative apps built with the SDK. Registration for the contest opens today, and the development window for the contest runs from 8-22 February.

From publishers to catalogue marketers, agencies and app developers, in fields as diverse as publishing, retail, gaming and enterprise, Mag+ has helped hundreds of companies bring beautiful, immersive content to smartphones and tablets with its free creative tools and white-label reader app, says the company.

Now, with the addition of the Mag+ SDK, developers have access to a pre-built Mag+ reader engine they can incorporate into another app or customise with any new features or functionality they desire. Taking advantage of Mag+’s creative tools, distribution backend and SDK parts allows brands to focus on creating great content and user experiences instead of building a full digital publishing system from scratch, says Mag+.
