The committee comprises individuals whose experience and expertise will ensure that a wide range of perspectives be brought to bear on advancing diversity and inclusion in Newsquest, says the company.
The committee is a working group, which will hope to make positive changes to the business moving forward in the area of diversity and inclusion.
Hussain Bayoomi, managing director of Newsquest’s news brands in South Wales and Taunton, who is chairing the committee said: “Attracting and retaining a workforce that is reflective of the diverse world in which we live is a top priority. It’s critical that we advance in our journey promoting a culture of belonging to further support an extraordinary culture where everyone can thrive.
“As a media company, inclusivity influences the stories we tell, the products we create and how we connect and partner with businesses and our communities. We want an organisation where everyone can show up as their true selves.”
