Nuts celebrates 10th birthday

Yesterday, 21st January, Nuts celebrated 10 years since the first copy of the magazine hit newsstands.

The brand celebrates its milestone with a charity calendar and a special collector’s edition of the magazine, featuring a rundown of the best moments in its history, say the publishers.

To mark the birthday, the Nuts editorial team have turned the tables - and cameras - on themselves and have stripped off for a calendar in aid of Breast Cancer Care. Drawing inspiration from the original calendar girls, the men behind the magazine are revealed in a variety of poses, from domestic activities such as ironing, washing and gardening, to activities such as motorbiking, cycling and playing football. In a salute to the original calendar, the team have also recreated the iconic group shot, which sees all of the team gathered round a piano.

Commenting on the calendar, editor of Nuts, Dominic Smith says: “We wanted to do something to mark an incredible ten years for Nuts, as well as doing something for charity. This is the first time any of us have stripped naked for a shoot, but everyone really got into it. We're fairly confident we won't outsell David Beckham, One Direction or even Cliff Richard but we hope to raise some money for a really important cause that's close to all of our hearts.”

Andy Harris, director of Fundraising and Marketing at Breast Cancer Care adds: “Many people may not know that every year, around 400 men are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK. It’s great to see a group of men having fun while raising awareness about the disease and funds to help provide Breast Cancer Care’s vital support for anyone affected. We’d like to thank everyone who took part for supporting us. ”

In its 10 year history, says IPC Media, Nuts has sold over 100 million copies of the magazine and reaches over 1.3 million young men every week through the print magazine, digital editions, social media and nuts.co.uk on desktop and mobile.

The Nuts 10th Birthday calendar is available to order online at www.greatcalendaroffers.com/nuts priced at £9.99. All profits go to Breast Cancer Care.
