Held in association with HoldTheFrontPage and the Press Association the Society of Editors, which has been supported by Camelot since 2001, organises the awards in conjunction with the Newspaper Society on behalf of the industry.
The awards will celebrate regional and local journalism in print and on corresponding digital platforms.
Digital awards have been increased to three with the addition of a Blog of the Year category.
Registration and entries for the awards will open on Friday 7 February and entries can be submitted until the deadline on Friday 7 March 2014. Early registration and entries are encouraged so that any issues can be attended to in advance of the deadline. Entry fees have been held at last year's rates.
Shortlists will be published in mid-April with the awards ceremony and celebratory lunch taking place at the London Lancaster hotel on Friday 16 May 2014. The Newspaper Society’s AGM will also take place at the same venue on the same date.

Paul Horrocks, SoE President in 2007 and former editor of the Manchester Evening News will again head the panel of distinguished independent judges recruited for their expertise and experience, says the Society of Editors.
Revenue generated by entry fees, table sales and sponsorship help to pay for the not-for-profit awards programme that also helps to support the Journalists’ Charity.
