Sarah Gooding announced as Editor of Essentials

IPC Media has announced the appointment of Sarah Gooding as editor of Essentials magazine.

Sarah is joining the Essentials team from her current position as features director at Woman magazine, where she is responsible for overseeing the celebrity and features teams.

Sarah has a wealth of experience in the monthly women’s glossy magazines sector, having previously held the position of deputy features editor at both Easy Living and woman&home, as well as the role of features editor at SHE magazine. Sarah also has experience working in the national press as commissioning editor for features at The Daily Mail, before becoming an executive on Femail at the publication.

Linda Swidenbank, publishing director of Essentials and woman&home, says: “I am delighted to welcome Sarah as the new editor of Essentials. Sarah knows and understands the Essentials reader and I am confident in her ability to direct the team to deliver editorial, which is of the highest calibre. The extensive experience Sarah has gained in senior editorial roles within this sector make her the ideal candidate to orchestrate the magazine’s ambitions.”

Sarah Gooding adds: “There is absolutely no doubting the incredible potential that exists for Essentials and I am thrilled to have been invited to take the helm at the magazine and thereby realise its future aspirations.”

Sarah Gooding takes up her new role on 15 July.
