The Society of Editors has published details of its upcoming Media Freedom Conference 2025.

SoE unveils conference programme

The Society of Editors’ Media Freedom Conference will take place on March 25, 2025 at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in London.

The conference is designed, says the Society, for anyone who works in news, particularly newsroom leaders and emerging leaders who aspire to drive innovation and bring about meaningful change.

Past keynote speakers have included notable figures such as Rishi Sunak, President Zelensky, the Lady Chief Justice and Clive Myrie. This year’s keynote lineup will be revealed soon.

According to the Society, programme highlights include:

  • Beyond the Headlines: Growing Audiences, Building Trust
  • One Year On – Is Trust Being Restored Between the Police and Media?
  • Can AI Transform Journalism Without Losing Its Soul?
  • Royals, Showbiz, and the Power Elite: Still Relevant or Losing Their Shine?
  • The Risks of Reporting: How Can We Keep Journalists Safe?
  • The Editors’ Panel
