Talking Tech-Heads

Some of the world's leading technology visionaries including Twitter CEO Dick Costolo (pictured), Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and Foursquare Co-founder Dennis Crowley are to be brought to virtual life in Silicon Roundabout this week, providing tech insight through augmented reality.

A range of The Wall Street Journal's iconic 'hedcuts' are to be exhibited in an interactive tech-art gallery at the WSJ Tech Cafe, popping up in London's Tech City this week.

Using free augmented reality app Aurasma, cafe visitors can point their smartphones at the tech influencers to see them burst to life, providing insight on how to spark creativity, utilise mobile and nurture talent to the local community's entrepreneurs, developers and venture capitalists.

The Tech Café, which pops up from 12 - 14 September, will feature a series of event sessions with the likes of Facebook, Google, Telefonica and UK Government, as well as hosting the interactive tech-art exhibition.

Other 'hedcuts' to be displayed and brought to virtual life at the Tech Café include Nokia CEO Stephen Elop, eBay CEO John Donahoe and Marissa Mayer, President and CEO of Yahoo! and the youngest CEO in the Fortune 500.

Aurasma's Head of Innovation Matt Mills comments: "We are excited to be bringing The Wall Street Journal Tech Cafe to augmented life and demonstrating some of the cool technology coming out of the UK.  The Cafe is testament to the great strides the UK tech community is making, something we're proud to be a part of at Aurasma."

The Wall Street Journal Tech Café will be held at The Book Club, 100-106 Leonard Street, London, EC2A 4RH from 8am on Wednesday, September 12 until 5pm on Friday, September 14.
