Tap! & MacFormat launch guide for new iPad

Less than 12 hours after the launch of the new iPad, Future Publishing’s MacFormat and Tap! magazines unveiled a free app to help customers find out about the new iPad’s technology.

Built using Future’s very own FutureFolio platform, the app is viewable on all versions of the iPad and claims to offer users an exciting experience using video, searchable text and interactive images to guide them through the features of the new iPad.

The Tap! interactive magazine team worked through the night to get this guide ready for launch, in the anticipation that many readers will benefit from a product that offers simple ways to get the lowdown on their prospective new purchase.

With new features such as a Retina display, quad-core graphics and 4G mobile broadband connectivity, the new iPad is at the cutting edge of modern consumer technology and is sure to be in high demand.

Inside the free magazine, users will find everything they need to know about the new iPad, plus industry views and independent advice and opinion from Tap!

Christopher Phin, Tap!’s Editor says: “The speed with which we can craft rich, native magazine experiences using Future’s interactive magazine platform, FutureFolio, combined with the passion and skills of the Tap! team means we’re ideally placed to be nimble and reactive when marquee events like this happen. We’re offering this app for free as a way to reward our customers for their loyalty, and we’re also running a competition for customers to win a new iPad, which is a great incentive to drive downloads.”

Ian Robson, Publisher of Tap! and MacFormat, added: “As currently the world’s only interactive magazine about getting the most out of Apple products, it’s fitting that Tap! is the first to market with an interactive user guide for the new iPad. Apple recently announced that over 25 billion apps have been downloaded from its App Store, which is phenomenal! Future is the UK’s leading technology publisher, and interactive magazine apps form a key part of our digital strategy – I know our readers will find this guide to the new iPad useful and engaging.”

Future’s combination of expertise on Apple products and technical know-how has enabled the publisher to launch this new app on Newsstand in remarkable time, marking how Future remains a clear leader in the digital field, says the company.

The guide to the new iPad is available to download for free for a limited period through the Tap! and MacFormat container apps on the App Store for Tap! and for MacFormat.
