Telegraph announces long-term deal with Hay Festival

Telegraph Media Group has announced a new three-year deal with the Hay Festival which will see The Telegraph become the Festival’s exclusive UK newspaper media partner.

The long-term contract will see comprehensive coverage of the Festival continued across The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph and The Telegraph website, with special sections and supplements as well as pages in the main newspapers dedicated to the Festival event. Online coverage, particularly video content, will also be increased.

TMG will, for the first time, have its own Telegraph-branded stage, which will seat 1,000 festival goers at the 2014 event. It will also be holding its popular ‘Question Time’ panel of experts and commentators, drawn from Telegraph journalists and columnists.

TMG will continue to provide editorial support of Hay's growing international festivals.

Mark Skipworth, Executive Editor, TMG, said: “The Telegraph is delighted to be continuing its involvement with the Hay Festival for the next three years and to have a Telegraph Stage for the first time. This long-term deal reinforces The Telegraph’s continued editorial commitment to and support of the Festival, drawing on our talented team of writers. We are proud to be part of this world-class event once again.”

Peter Florence, Hay's director, said: “The Telegraph’s festival coverage has devoted extraordinary space and thought to writers and books, and has engaged huge new audiences. They’re a pleasure to work with.”

The Hay Festival will take place from 22nd May to 1st June, 2014.
