Telegraph builds on loyalty programme with Avios partnership

Telegraph Media Group (TMG) is to launch a long-term partnership with Avios, the UK travel rewards programme.

The partnership will offer exclusive opportunities for the Telegraph’s 330,000 subscribers to collect and spend Avios, the shared reward currency for the Avios programme, British Airways Executive Club and Iberia Plus, to use towards travel rewards.

The partnership officially launched on Saturday, 8th September and subscribers will be offered bonus Avios for joining the programme. This will be followed up with an exclusive British Airways offer from Avios for Telegraph subscribers on Saturday, 15th September.

The Telegraph plans to expand on this initial deal with a number of exclusive British Airways offers from Avios across the year, a key element of the partnership.

Graham Horner, Marketing Director, TMG, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer our subscribers exclusive access to the world of Avios and feel this highlights the investment we are making in our loyalty programme.”

“The Avios partnership with the involvement from British Airways truly bolsters the programme’s travel offerings and builds on the success of our recent partnership with Servisair, which enables subscribers to benefit from ‘two-for-one’ at 18 airport lounges across the UK.”

Andrea Burchett, Director of Partnerships, Marketing & Insight, Avios, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Telegraph subscribers to discover the benefits of the Avios programme and begin building up their balances to use towards fantastic travel rewards.

“You can collect Avios through over 200 popular online brands on our eStore, on purchases using the Tesco Clubcard, and through everyday spending on the Lloyds TSB Duo Avios Credit Cards as well as when you buy British Airways and Iberia flights - so even if you are a new member, you could be getting away sooner than you think.”

The Telegraph claims to be the leading subscription newspaper with 330,000 subscribers. The Telegraph Subscriber Programme initially launched in 2010 and now includes a Privilege Card for all subscribers to the newspaper, as well as access to various ‘clubs’ such as Dining, Golf and Film. There are more than 5,000 venues in the UK accepting the Privilege Card.
