The Sun has announced the appointment of Elaine Scott as customer marketing director. The publisher says Scott will be responsible for harnessing the audiences from The Sun’s membership programme, Sun Club, to enhance the brand’s customer marketing strategy.
The Sun Club, launched earlier in the year, offers readers access to content, along with offers and promotions readers associate with The Sun. She will focus primarily on driving the acquisition, engagement, and retention of The Sun’s membership programme.
Scott brings over 15 years of experience in the media industry, with a focus on customer retention and engagement. Having most recently served as retention director, subscriptions at The Telegraph, Elaine also played a key role at NOW TV as head of engagement, and at Sky as customer communications controller. The Sun says this extensive expertise will be a significant asset as she steps into her new role.
Elaine Scott, customer marketing director, The Sun, commented: “It's an incredible time to join The Sun following the launch of Sun Club. I'm excited to be part of a team that prioritises innovation and puts the readers at the heart of everything we do. I’m looking forward to playing a role in maximising our success by driving engagement and loyalty.”
Louise Crosby, director of customer revenue, The Sun, said: “We’re thrilled to have Elaine on board as we continue to boost The Sun’s customer marketing strategy. We are at a pivotal moment for the publication following the launch of Sun Club, and her extensive experience will be a great addition to this growing proposition.”
