Vogue & GQ to open clubs in Far East

A Vogue Café, Vogue Club and GQ Bar will open in Singapore, and a Vogue Club will debut in Bangkok, it was announced this week by Stuart Nielsen, Director of Development, Condé Nast International Restaurants.

The restaurant division of the magazine publisher will partner with Trilogy Hospitality in Singapore, and with Fourteen Points Company in Bangkok to launch the establishments later this year.

Stuart Nielsen, Director of Development, Condé Nast International Restaurants, said, “With over 50 years experience in the industry, Trilogy Hospitality’s passion combined with the locations secured will ensure the developments in Singapore are a great success. Sorapoj Techakraisi has a proven record in bringing international brands such as The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Dean & DeLuca and Joel Robuchon into the Thai market, as well as successful property development with MahaNakhon, Saladaeng Residences, and Ficus Lane. We are very excited about this partnership.”

In Singapore, the Vogue Club will be located on the top floors of the Singapore Land Tower, a 47 story skyscraper in the business district. It will boast a panoramic 360° terrace and will feature a restaurant and ultra lounge. The GQ Bar and the Vogue Café will be housed in iconic Singapore locations, to be announced shortly.

Jacco Klip, CEO of Trilogy Hospitality, commented: “We recognise the importance of appropriately positioning the Vogue and GQ brands in the Asian market in general, and the Singaporean market in particular. We are both excited and committed to doing so. We have a strong working relationship with Condé Nast International Restaurants and Stuart Nielsen, and know our vision is aligned for these important ventures.”

In Thailand, working with Fourteen Points Company, a Vogue Club will open at the MahaNakhon CUBE retail complex, in the Sathorn-Narathiwas Rajanakarin-Silom business district of Bangkok.  The Vogue Club Bangkok will be designed by the world-renowned David Collins Studio.

Sorapoj Techakraisri, CEO of Fourteen Points Company, added “Our target consumer appreciates quality service and environments, and will be hungry to experience the Vogue Club, situated on the top floor of MahaNakhon’s prime shopping site and architectural landmark.  The Vogue Club will deliver all one would expect from the world’s fashion bible. The potential is huge, and we fully expect to achieve status as the ‘go-to’ club in the city for the stylish and sophisticated.”

Other Condé Nast Restaurant openings include the GQ Bar Istanbul, launching at the end of February, and further openings scheduled for 2013 include a Vogue Café and GQ Bar in Dubai.  Sister establishments Vogue Café, GQ Bar and the Tatler Club are already in operation in Moscow, where they cater to a high-end clientele.
