WeddingSite launches free planning app for iPhone

Weddingsite.co.uk, the online wedding planning tool provider, has just launched a free wedding planning app for the iPhone.

The app, rated as the one to watch in the Independent’s five best wedding planning apps, is the latest innovation from WeddingSite, part of the Archant Bride division.

It customises the key wedding planning tools including a fully interactive To Do list, Budget Tracker, Guest Manager and Supplier Finder which sync in real time to all of the bride’s desktop services through WeddingSite.

Free to download and use, The WeddingSite app aims to help make planning easier, putting brides and grooms-to-be in control on the go, anytime, anywhere.

Pettrina Keogh, Managing Director at WeddingSite, said: “WeddingSite is all about simplifying the wedding planning journey for our customers; anything that saves time and reduces stress for our brides-to-be is the priority in all our product development.

"The app has several features that you can’t find anywhere else, including: in app assigning of tasks to other members of the wedding party and integration of your wedding to-dos with your icalendar, simple import of guest contact details from your phone and on-the-go changes to guest details such as rsvps and dietary requirements, budget recommendations for even easier ways of planning your wedding finances and fast access to local rated wedding suppliers.”

According to Archant, The Independent was the first to review the app, rating it in its top five wedding planning apps stating that the WeddingSite app will be invaluable for UK-based couples.

Sally Newall, Indybest Editor at The Independent, said: “This newly-launched app by the Wedding website that focuses on planning tools is, crucially, UK-based. They consulted 54,000 brides to find out the tools they most wanted to use on the go while planning their nuptials. The result? A streamlined app with four hardworking areas: to-do, budgets, guests and suppliers. The budget planner is a cut above others out there; it uses UK average wedding spends to guide how much you should splurge on each thing (for a budget of £12,000, you could allow around £5,500 on the reception, for example).

"As the app grows in number of users (it only launched in the second week in January) we think the supplier database will become its most useful asset. There are currently around 200,000 suppliers listed and you can search by category, read reviews from other couples and get directions. As it recently launched, reviews are a bit scant, but this will only get better.”
