What Car? Approved Used goes live

What Car?, Haymarket Consumer Media's car-buying title, has unveiled an all new brand to the used car market, What Car? Approved Used.

What Car? Approved Used is seen as one of the most important developments in the used car retailing business, because it offers unprecedented peace of mind for consumers, says Haymarket.

What Car? has joined forces with TrustedDealers.co.uk , the premier website set up by UK car dealers to offer their used car stock to consumers. Cars offered for sale through TrustedDealers.co.uk will be listed on whatcar.com, and Trusted Dealers and will be given exclusive use of What Car? Approved Used branding to use throughout their dealership as well as in their marketing communications, and beyond.

What Car? publishing director Andrew Golby said: 'We have thought long and hard about how we can add value and reassurance to the used car market. We’ve chosen to work with some of the UK’s best dealers, whose focus upon quality and customer service hits the benchmark that all vehicle retailers should aspire to. We feel confident that What Car? joining forces with Trusted Dealers, a company that has extremely high standards, will offer more confidence to used car buyers making a purchase through the scheme.

'The partnership will give dealers additional marketing support and provide used car customers the reassurance they are buying from a dealer that is honest, trustworthy and has their best interests at heart.'

Neil Addley, managing director of Trusted Dealers, agreed, saying: “We’re pleased that Trusted Dealers has been selected as the ideal partner for What Car?. We launched 18 months ago and have tried to lead the way in creating clear, common standards for consumers and in turn sales opportunities for our members. We are confident that the values and awareness associated with What Car? will help consumers find the safest place to buy a car online.

“Consumers buying a car from a What Car? Approved Used dealership are assured that they are buying a car from a trusted dealer that offers by far the most safe and reliable way of buying a used car in the UK.”

In order to become a Trusted Dealer and benefit from the What Car? Approved Used banner, every dealer signs up to the ‘10 Points of Difference’ charter for every car they market, undertaking to:

• Conduct a full pre-delivery mechanical inspection
