Wil Harris appointed Head of Digital at Condé Nast

Wil Harris has been appointed Head of Digital of Condé Nast Britain, it was announced yesterday by Nicholas Coleridge, President of Condé Nast International and Managing Director of Condé Nast Britain.

Responsible for all aspects of digital development for Condé Nast, Harris will bring considerable experience to his new role. Most recently Co-Founder and Managing Director of ChannelFlip, Harris sold the company, one of Europe’s largest online multi-channel networks, to the Shine Group in 2012 and announced his departure from the company earlier this month.

“I am delighted that Wil is joining us: he is knowledgeable, entrepreneurial, and has a proven track record. He is also a longstanding fan of our brands. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jamie Jouning for his excellent work running Digital for the past 4 years, as he moves over to Glamour as Publisher of our highest-selling title,” said Coleridge.

According to the company, Condé Nast continues to lead the magazine publishing industry for digital development. With a total of 8,732,446 unique users across all websites (Google Analytics Nov 13 – Jan 14) this is an audience increase of 247% since November 2010. Reach for Condé Nast brands on Facebook totals 6,291,009 (up 511% since Feb 2012), with 3,190,047 followers on Twitter currently (up 217%). Condé Nast has recorded 1,339,362 mobile app downloads to date, with an annual total of 597,102 digital edition downloads across all brands. Digital revenue has grown by over 250% since 2004, while the websites have all been reimagined in the last 2 years, pioneering opportunities for luxury advertisers with new digital advertising formats bespoke to Condé Nast.

Wil Harris will join Condé Nast in the Spring, when he will take over from Jamie Jouning, recently appointed Publisher of Glamour following the retirement of Simon Kippin, with effect from the end of March 2014.
