Wired announces new annual publication

The premier issue of The Wired World in 2013 is to launch in November, it was announced yesterday.

Publishers Condé Nast say: From the creative minds behind Wired, the recognised authority on the future, The Wired World in 2013 is a new annual trend report that will cover a broad range of topics across eight sections; from science to arts, politics to medicine and culture to the environment. With over 100 articles by associates from the far reaches of the Wired network, this will be an invaluable guide to the year ahead for the knowledge-hungry.

The debut issue will see contributions from leading authorities including business magnate Sir Richard Branson, industrial designer James Dyson, Vice Chairman of Ogilvy Group, Rory Sutherland, and Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Princeton University, Anne-Marie Slaughter. The Wired World in 2013 is edited by David Baker, former Managing Editor of Wired, a speaker at The School of Life and a Consultant for the Wired Consultancy.

David Baker comments: “In the fast moving sound-bite culture of the social media generation, The Wired World in 2013 will stand out: considered, concentrated content intended for full immersion, and an inspiration to those who read it. Good ideas come from good ideas and I’m sure as soon as we hit the newsstands, someone will make a connection between two seemingly disparate trends and create the next world-changing startup."

The advertising inventory of The Wired World in 2013 will be limited to just 25% of the book – a figure in sharp contrast with bi-annual and annual consumer publications of this nature to ensure standout. There will also be a limited number of multimedia opportunities within the tablet edition.

Rupert Turnbull, Publishing Director of Wired said: “International reach and profile for The Wired World in 2013 will target the C-Suite, key influencers and decision maker element of the monthly Wired audience. The limited advertising opportunities mean a much greater impact and authority for those who are part of this exciting venture.”

Positioned at newsstand alongside the December issue of Wired, The Wired World in 2013 will be available from 1st November 2012 for an extended period, priced at £5 in print and digital.
