Paul Connew
Paul is a media commentator, broadcaster and co-author of a number of books on politics and the media in the digital age, the latest being, 'General Election 2024: The Media and the Messengers'. He is a former editor of the Sunday Mirror, deputy editor of the Daily Mirror and former Mirror Group US bureau chief.
He has appeared in and advised on Jimmy Savile scandal documentaries for Netflix, ITV, Australian broadcasting and the BBC itself. He is a co-author of two books on the BBC in the modern media age, including the BBC at 100: Will It Survive? Connew has also written and broadcast critically on another BBC reputational disaster, the deceit and cover ups that surrounded the now discredited Martin Bashir, Panorama, Princess Diana programme.
Paul views himself as a staunch supporter of public service broadcasting and a not uncritical defender of the BBC generally.
