Head of Service Delivery for Archant Information Systems Justin Parsons swapped his football boots for running shoes to make a successful debut in the Great North Run in September and raised £258 for Cancer Research UK.
Archant Lifestyle’s France group sales manager, Susan Crwys-Williams, completed the Cheltenham half-marathon in September, after being inspired by a magazine reader who became a personal friend. Susan ran to raise £327 for Winston's Wish, a local charity supporting local children.
Archant London reporter Tim Lamden, who is the Ham&High’s politics correspondent, was doused with a bucket of iced water by editor Geoff Martin outside the newspaper’s Charles House office in August and raised £50 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Archant Mobile Design & Marketing Manager Adam Burges raised over £4,000 for London’s Air Ambulance by cycling the 390 miles from Cornwall to London in memory of a former colleague who died in a cycling accident.
Hunts Post reporter Hywel Barrett, from Archant Herts & Cambs, cycled 70 miles to raise £535 for the paper’s Two Wheels for Woodlands event to raise funds for the Woodlands Cancer Centre at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Huntingdon.
Archant East Home Delivery Development Manager Ian Condron who only started running in January this year using the NHS couch to 5k podcast, successfully completed the 13 miles of the Great North Run to raise £637 for the Alzheimer's Society.
Cotswold Life media consultant Kirsty Muir from Archant Life joined the ranks of celebrity dancers after signing up for the Strictly Star dancing competition in aid of the National Star College. After some 200 hours of learning to jive, Kirsty took to the dance floor at the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham on September 20 to compete for Gloucestershire’s own Strictly crown and raise money for National Star College which supports young people with complex disabilities. Kirsty personally raised £2619 out of a total for the event of £46,000.
Sarah Turner from Archant Production Services in Norwich cycled the 80 miles from Cambridge to Norwich in September, in memory of her mother who died 10 years ago from cancer. Sarah completed the ride in 5hrs 54mins and raised £273 for the Big C.
East London Advertiser reporter Adam Barnett, from Archant London, sang in a Syria Benefit Gig in aid of Medecins Sans Frontieres (UK) in December. Adam rehearsed for a year with the Half Decents to perform at the gig in front of 150 people, which raised around £3000 for the charity. Adam’s share of the funds was £421, which Archant Gold has matched.
Scores of staff across a number of Archant offices including Norwich, Ipswich, Worthing, Weston-super-Mare and Exeter took part in Christmas Jumper Day on Friday December 12 to raise £469 for Save the Children.
