Bloomberg has announced it has been named both ‘ESG Index Provider of the Year’ and ‘Climate Index Provider of the Year’ at the Environmental Finance 2025 Sustainable Investment Awards. These global awards recognize asset managers, analysts and data providers that are helping investors make better informed investment decisions.

“This dual recognition reflects Bloomberg’s continued innovation in sustainable indices and our unwavering commitment to providing clients with robust, transparent, and investable index solutions,” said Zarina Nasib, global head of sustainable indices product, Bloomberg Index Services Limited. “Our approach combines high-quality data and research with deep collaboration with clients to meet the evolving needs of responsible investors, helping them navigate complex sustainability considerations and make more informed decisions across their portfolios.”

Bloomberg says its sustainable index offerings have been valued by markets with the launch of offerings like the Bloomberg Global Aggregate Green, Social & Sustainability Bond Indices, Bloomberg Government Climate Tilted Bond Indices and Bloomberg US Municipal Impact Index, among others. Recently, the University of Cambridge announced its selection of Bloomberg Index Services Limited to launch the first global corporate bond index to support investors to address fossil fuel expansion through asset allocation and stewardship. With over 500 cross-asset indices available, billions of dollars in passive AUM are tied to Bloomberg’s Sustainable Fixed Income indices alone.

Bloomberg added that this award marks another milestone for its sustainable finance offering, reinforcing its leadership across climate indexing and sustainability data and solutions. Bloomberg provides company-reported data on over 16,000+ companies from more than 100 countries, carbon emission estimates for over 130,000 companies, transition risk analytics for over 70,000 companies, and physical and nature risk analytics using geospatial overlays for over 48,000 and 35,000 companies respectively.
