The team behind Electrical Contracting News (ECN) has announced the launch of ECN Live! a new, dedicated trade event for the electrical contracting sector and all electrical professionals.

Taking place at the NEC Birmingham on 23-24 September 2026, ECN Live! brings ECN into a live, face-to-face format offering a platform for product discovery, learning, and networking for the UK’s electrical industry, say the organisers.

ECN Live! will be hosted at the NEC, Birmingham which the publisher says underlines the scale, ambition, and professionalism behind the launch.

David Kitchener, founder & CEO of All Things Media, parent company of ECN, explains: “ECN Live! is designed to meet the exact needs of today’s electrical contracting sector, an industry that’s evolving rapidly through digitalisation, and smart technology. This is more than just another trade show. It’s a live extension of everything ECN stands for: information, innovation, and industry connection.”

ECN Live! will be co-located with EI Live!, a smart home and AV technology show, now in its 15th year. The move sees EI Live! transition from Farnborough International Exhibition Centre to the NEC, creating an expanded platform for both industries to grow together.

The publisher says this co-location recognises the increasing synergy between the electrical contracting and smart home markets, from integrated lighting and whole-home automation. Exhibitors and visitors will benefit from shared access and crossover audiences, opening new business opportunities and collaborative possibilities.
