FT appoints new European diplomatic correspondent

The Financial Times has announced the appointment of Arthur Beesley as its European diplomatic correspondent.

Beesley will be based in Brussels and report into Alex Barker who has recently assumed the role of Brussels bureau chief.

Beesley joins from the Irish Times where he was economics editor. Prior to that he served as Brussels correspondent, and he has held a number of senior roles at the title during a 20-year career in journalism.

FT editor Lionel Barber said: “As European diplomatic correspondent Arthur will further strengthen the FT’s award-winning Brussels team. His appointment will help meet increasing demand for more in-depth reports on Europe among our global readers.”
