GQ partners with HUGO BOSS for Men Of The Year awards

The sixteenth annual GQ Men of the Year Awards will be held in association with luxury lifestyle group HUGO BOSS, it was announced this week.

Jamie Bill, Publishing Director of GQ, commented: “We could not have found a more fitting partner, embodying the spirit of GQ man, and are looking forward to hosting the Men of the Year Awards with HUGO BOSS. Always the hot-ticket event of the autumn, everyone asks how we can possibly better the last ceremony. Watch this space…”

Bernd Hake, Managing Director of HUGO BOSS UK remarked “HUGO BOSS is thrilled to be supporting GQ Men of the Year, one of the most prestigious annual events in the UK. We have a superb long-standing relationship with GQ - a title perfectly fitting with our image. It's fantastic to unite all our key elements - fashion, fragrance, eyewear and watches - to celebrate the HUGO BOSS universe with GQ at Men of the Year."

“Our finest hour, the GQ Men of the Year Awards reached their zenith in 2012 with 15 of Team GB’s Olympic and Paralympics’ luminaries on our stage, preceded by everyone who’s anyone in the worlds of film, fashion, finance, food, music, media, literature and comedy. With HUGO BOSS, we’ll be bringing together the giants of 2013 across all the realms our magazine covers, and yet again creating quite a night,” adds Dylan Jones, Editor of GQ.

In addition to the long standing award categories presented in previous years, the sponsor will bestow its own award – the HUGO BOSS Most Stylish Man Award. This will be presented to a gentleman of great sartorial calibre, with classic and timeless style, the type of man who is the inspiration behind all the key components of the HUGO BOSS male, says GQ.

The GQ Men of the Year Awards 2013, in association with HUGO BOSS, will be held on Tuesday 3rd September, at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden.

This year, GQ celebrates their 16th awards, and HUGO BOSS fragrances, licensed by P&G Prestige, will also celebrate 16 years of their best selling classic BOSS bottled, a permanent fixture on global top 10 bestseller lists since launch.

Starting as an intimate reception for a select cluster of stars in 1998, GQ Men of the Year has evolved into one of the UK’s most significant award ceremonies, celebrating the year’s finest males (and of course one standout female). Celebrities attending the GQ Men of the Year Awards since launch are, say the organisers, too many to mention, but have included Jay-Z, Madonna, Take That, U2, Michael Caine, Benicio del Toro, Tom Ford, George Michael, Ricky Gervais, Mickey Rourke, Tony Bennett, Jason Statham, Jenson Button, Sasha Baron Cohen, Justin Timberlake, Simon Cowell, Yoko Ono, Lewis Hamilton, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, Alexander McQueen, Jonathan Ross, Dizzee Rascal, James Corden, Boris Johnson, Eva Herzigova, Idris Elba, Sharon and Ozzy Osborne, Mick Fleetwood, Paul McCartney, Jamie Oliver, Charlize Theron, Matt Lucas, David Walliams, Elton John, Lily Allen, Boris Johnson, Daniel Craig, Guy Ritchie, Naomi Campbell, David Cameron, Salman Rushdie, Harvey Weinstein, Giorgio Armani, Kate Moss and the London 2012 stars of Team GB including Sir Bradley Wiggins, Sir Chris Hoy, Mo Farah and Victoria Pendleton.
