Hearst UK has announced that Harper’s Bazaar will host its fifth annual International Women’s Day celebration, held in partnership with Clé de Peau Beauté, Aranyani and Veuve Clicquot.
The event will take place on Thursday 9 March 2023 at the Connaught, London, says the publisher, and will include a champagne reception, dinner, and a series of talks with women leaders who are all advancing the cause of gender equality in their respective fields. The speaker line-up includes:
- The actress Aimee Lou Wood, who won a Bafta for her role in Sex Education and is currently starring on stage in Cabaret at the KitKat Club.
- The visionary novelist and game writer Naomi Alderman, whose bestselling novel The Power has just been adapted for a television series that will air this spring.
- Tulip Siddiq, the MP for Hampstead and Kilburn, who was instrumental in supporting the campaign to free Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe (the winner of the Inspiration Award at the Bazaar Women of the Year Awards 2022) from imprisonment in Iran.
Lydia Slater, editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar, said: “Harper’s Bazaar has a long history of championing women’s rights, and International Women’s Day is a vital moment in the calendar for us to celebrate how far we have come, while recognising that the fight is far from over. We are delighted to be partnering with Clé de Peau Beauté, Aranyani and Veuve Clicquot, and to be joined by our readers for what we hope will be a truly inspiring evening.”
The event will take place from 6.30 to 11.00pm. The tickets are sold out; however, a waiting list can be accessed here in case more places become available.
