Immediate Media appoints Lorna East

Lorna East is the new publisher of the Immediate Media Food Group.

In her new role Lorna (pictured) will be responsible for working with BBC Worldwide to maintain Good Food’s market leading position in print and taking the digital magazine onto new platforms and devices, says Immediate Media.

She will also be responsible for wholly Immediate owned olive magazine and its cross media future.

East brings to Immediate extensive publishing and consumer expertise, most recently at Wordwide and previously at Seven, publishing Asos.com magazine and looking after the Sky Movies and Odeon magazine accounts at Future previously.

According to Alfie Lewis, Group Publishing Director, Contract and Customer Publishing: “I am delighted to welcome Lorna to the business. She has the perfect mix of contract and consumer experience and is as comfortable with digital as she is the nuances of the newsstand. This will come in useful as we maintain leadership in print as well as expand Good Food’s digital footprint, as well as leading on some exciting digital developments for the Immediate media owned olive brand.”

According to Lorna: “My role has been described as one of the best publishing jobs in the industry and I can’t argue with that. I’m thrilled to be joining Immediate at such an exciting stage in its development and am looking forward to working with the teams to extend the reach of our fantastic food brands.”
