Informa ranks 5th in Britain’s Top Employers

Informa has been certified as one of Britain’s Top Employers – and for the first time ever is ranked in 5th place in the ‘large company category’ of the awards.

Research by the CRF Institute, backed by an independent audit, shows it is among the best employers in the UK, taking ‘excellent care of employees and providing exceptional working conditions’. The Britain’s Top Employer’s award ceremony took place in central London on Thursday night.

Emma Blaney, Group HRD of Informa plc, attended the awards with some of her team. She said, “We are absolutely, utterly delighted. We’ve been among the Top Employers generally for a number of years now – a feat in itself – so to be given a ranking for the first time is a stunning achievement, particularly because of the high-profile companies we now know we walk tall with, among them KFC and Weatherspoons.

“The news went ‘public’ in The Guardian newspaper on Saturday, and impacts us as a business as it helps spread the news that we are an exceptional employer, which in turn helps us attract more of the best people in the world.”

The judges explained, “Whether you are looking for high rates of pay, excellent career development, relaxed working environment or superb training, the profiles of the companies included in Top Employers offer incisive and compelling insight into what it’s like to work for some of the most forward-thinking employers.

“Independent research by Grant Thornton into Informa’s employee offerings showed it has outstanding working conditions.

“The publishing and conference company is now the world’s largest publicly owned organiser of exhibitions, conferences and training courses. It specialises in providing information and services for the academic and scientific, professional and commercial business communities. It has 150 offices in more than 40 countries and employs 3,200 staff in the UK."
