Launch: Marvel Fact Files

Marvel Fact Files, a new collection from Eaglemoss Publications, goes on sale 13 March.

According to distributors COMAG: One of the most famous comic book publishers ever, Marvel Comics began life in 1939, with comic books featuring Captain America, Namor the Sub-Mariner and an early version of the Human Torch. It was not until 1961 however, when legendary comics’ writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby created The Fantastic Four that the company really became the force that it is now.

A prolific writer, Lee worked with many artists in his 33 years at Marvel Comics, creating many classic characters including the Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, the Mighty Thor and the X-Men, amongst many others. Despite these achievements, it is perhaps the creation of Spider-Man for which Lee is most remembered and possibly Marvel Comic’s greatest success story ever.

Looking back at many of the characters in the Marvel Comics archives, the Marvel Fact Files will be a weekly collection that builds up to create a fantastic in-depth guide to the Marvel Universe, packed with information on all the heroes, villains, teams and much more.

Aimed at men aged over 18 as well as fathers and their children, every issue of Marvel Fact Files will have original cutaway artwork that reveals hidden secrets, detailed character profiles, a history of the teams and a timeline of some of Marvel Comics’ greatest battles ever.

As well as this information about each character’s super powers, weapons, vehicles and technology, 32-page Marvel Fact Files will have the inside history of Marvel Comics itself.

No.1 (on sale 13/3/13) at the introductory price of £0.99 will be mounted on a backing board.

No.2 (on sale 28/03/13) will be at the regular price of £2.99 and will carry a free ring binder.

No.3 (on sale 04/04/13) at the regular price of £2.99, will carry a free set of dividers.

The launch of Marvel Fact Files will be supported by a massive TV advertising campaign from 12 March, as well as through e-mail, online promotion and social media.

Fully SoR, this collection will be supported by trade flyers in issue No.196 (on sale 21/02/13) and No.197 (on sale 07/03/13) of The Classic Marvel Figurine Collection.
