Mail Newspapers appoints Head of Consumer Data & Insight

Mail Newspapers has announced the appointment of Ken Macpherson as its first Head of Consumer Data & Insight.

Ken Macpherson joins from the Telegraph Media Group, where he has been its Director of Data for the last five years.

Reporting to Mail Newspapers’ Chief Marketing Officer, Roland Agambar, Macpherson will be responsible for building a strong data analytics capability within Marketing as well as developing the use of data analytics across Mail Newspapers’ editorial and commercial business areas.

“This role is critical to championing the strategic use of data in our customer activities so I’m thrilled to have recruited an executive of Ken’s calibre. I’ve no doubt he will play a key role in establishing a best-in-class function that delivers valuable customer analytics and actionable insights,” commented Agambar.

Macpherson started his 18 year data career working for Uni-Marketing, where he focused on helping clients such as Condé Nast, BBC and IPC Media commercialise their data assets. He then moved to roles at Wegener DM and CACI before returning to the publishing industry with the Telegraph in 2011. At the Telegraph, he has been responsible raising awareness of the value of data and setting up and managing a robust data management platform.

A passionate Tottenham Hotspur fan, Macpherson lives in Surrey with his wife and three children. He joins Mail Newspapers on 27th April.
