New look for Conde Nast Traveller

Condé Nast Traveller has unveiled a new design for its September 2012 issue under new Editor Melinda Stevens.

On newsstands from Thursday 9th August, the new edition implements a fresh re-design and authoritative and useful new editorial pages including:

‘Winging it’ - an anonymous ‘fly guy’s’ amusing column on striving for the best when travelling; ‘The view from here’ - written by a different celebrity each month reflecting on their travel escapades. Giles Coren eats his way from East LA to Muscle Beach in the September issue; 'Travel Geek’ - a technology page featuring the latest hottest travel gadgets. In addition, a full page has been dedicated to the ‘Books’ section, reviewing the latest travel literature, and Condé Nast Traveller staff now form ‘The Experts’ to solve reader’s travel enquiries.

Melinda Stevens comments, “Condé Nast Traveller has such photographic firepower, and it’s packed with punchy information provided by the best travel writers in the world. I want to show both off to their best, with a new energy and a new authority. I also want to bring it bang up-to-date, to be the first on the ground covering emerging destinations, and to give it a certain mouthy savvy too! Personality, in all senses of the word, will be a big focus from here on in. The mix is crucial – eminent writers who know the classics like the back of their hand but who are equally well-informed away from the tourist trail, and also witty insiders with unique takes on intriguing neighbourhoods. Tapping into the best out-there adventures is vital, but we’ll also uncover the secret stuff that suddenly makes the UK entirely seductive. Condé Nast Traveller has such potential range. I want to embrace it all and make a melting pot, and an irresistible one at that.”

Condé Nast Traveller has seven editions globally. The first edition of the magazine was launched in the United States in 1987, and in addition to the US and UK editions, Condé Nast Traveller is published in Italy, Spain, Greece, India and Russia.
