News UK Commercial appoints two senior sales roles

News UK Commercial has today announced the appointment of Jane Putley as Head of News and Donia Dacey as Head of Solutions.

Jane joins from The Express where she has been for the past 20 years, most previously as the Group Trading Director. Donia has over 20 years of experience in the industry and joins from ITV where she was Creative Sales Controller.

Jane’s key role will be to lead the sales teams for The Sun, Times and Sunday Times across all platforms. She will report into Chris Amor, the new Trading Director appointed last December.

Donia will look to create best in class commercial content-led campaigns and generate greater commercial revenue from this growing area, says News UK. Her role will be to manage the creative output of the team, ensuring News UK is industry-leading, driving the use of insight with the Strategy team and collaboration with Method at News, News UK’s in house creative agency. Donia will report into the Sales Director, Karin Seymour.

In their previous roles, Jane and Donia have built a wealth of experience and skill across a variety of responsibilities, including identifying new business opportunities, effectively managing client relationships, implementing ideas both internally and externally whilst driving revenue across all channels.

Dominic Carter, Commercial Director for News UK Commercial, said: “Between them Jane and Donia bring a wealth of experience from newspapers, TV and magazines to Chris and Karin’s teams respectively and will be a great asset to News UK Commercial. They will play a key role in developing our relationship with both advertisers and customers whilst increasing multi-platform engagement and sales across the commercial team.”

Jane will be starting her role towards the end of the year and Donia started in her role at the end of May.
