OK! launches in Pakistan

An initial circulation of 25,000 reflects a growing appetite for celebrity, art and culture in Pakistan, say the publishers.

According to its publishers, Northern & Shell, OK! Pakistan aims to revolutionise and redefine celebrities in Pakistan with the goal of highlighting the nation's extraordinary culture and promoting Pakistan's multifaceted talent, high achievers and national pride, on an international platform. Renowned for being the first for celebrity news, the launch of OK! Pakistan reflects the growing appetite for celebrity and fashion news within Pakistan. Following the magazine’s launch earlier this month, indications suggest that it has been warmly received and is selling out nationwide.

The core OK! Pakistan team will be led by Publisher, CEO & Editorial Director Saher H. Paracha who hopes the magazine will not just be a source of international and local exclusives, but also a source of inspiration, to the Pakistani population, particularly women and young girls. The all-women editorial team is comprised of experienced writers, contributors and photojournalists from across the country, offering readers an unparalleled insight in to the dazzling world of celebrity and allowing them to connect with Pakistan’s flourishing fashion, entertainment and lifestyle industry.

Saher H. Paracha, Publisher, CEO & Editorial Director, said: "The launch of OK! Pakistan is of enormous significance to our country. In addition to highlighting both international and local celebrities, as well as the fabulous lives of Pakistan's most glamorous, we will also pay homage to the heroes who are working towards change and those who are trying to make a difference. We hope to encourage our people to educate and empower themselves, and aim to highlight the brighter side of Pakistan to a global audience. OK! Pakistan will show that our country is a nation full of survivors who are extremely optimistic about what the future might bring."

The inaugural cover of OK! Pakistan features former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto as Pakistan’s most inspirational woman and is accompanied by a world exclusive written by her close friend and confidante, renowned writer Victoria Schofield.
