Oneshot: 50 Amazing Years Of The Doctor

50 Amazing Years Of The Doctor, a oneshot from The Dark Side, goes on sale 21 November, priced £3.99.

According to distributors COMAG Specialist: With more than 20 years of experience of the genres of horror, science fiction and fantasy, The Dark Side has built an enviable archive of articles about cult TV shows and films.

Having gone through this extensive and impressive record, the team behind the critically acclaimed movie magazine has pulled together many of the best features and photos from 50 years of the character, to pay homage to Doctor Who on both the big screen and small.

Celebrating this milestone in the Time Lord’s history, 50 Amazing Years Of The Doctor will go back in time to 1963, where the story began on TV with William Hartnell, before taking the TARDIS to the current Doctor, Matt Smith, by way of all those in between.

Famous for forcing a generation of viewers to watch from behind their sofas, 50 Amazing Years Of The Doctor will list the 50 scariest moments from the show’s history, detailing some of the best baddies and creepiest creatures ever, with photos and pictures.

Perhaps surprising today, when it first aired in 1963, BBC bosses were not sure about the show and many of the original episodes were taped over. Looking back at this period, 50 Amazing Years Of The Doctor will reveal how the show’s popularity grew, leading to a hunt for many lost episodes, resulting in many recently being unearthed in Nigeria!

As with all cult classics, Doctor Who has created a group of dedicated followers and fans, who dress up, attend conventions and collect any associated memorabilia. Covering all this, 50 Amazing Years Of The Doctor will have many of the best collectable products, look at the conventions and speak to enthusiasts about the appeal of the show.

Not only covering all ten TV incarnations, 50 Amazing Years Of The Doctor will also look at the film adaptations, starring Peter Cushing in the 1960s and Paul McGann in 1996.

Along with all this and a double-sided poster, 50 Amazing Years Of The Doctor will have an x-rated interview with Tom Baker, as well as less colourful conversations with director Michael E. Briant, writer Mark Gatiss and top Doctor Who expert Marcus Hearn.
