The inaugural print issue, featuring six different covers and spanning across 100 pages, includes interviews with actress Rose Williams, musician JoJo, boxer Galal Yafai and Tik Tok celebrities Zion Sapong and Devinity Perkins, as well as latest news and elegant shoots featuring world-leading jewellers, says the publisher.
Ian Thorley, founder and CEO of Something About Media, said: “Following the success of launching the digital platform Something About Rocks in November 2021, as strong believers in the power of print we are very excited to announce the first print issue of Something About Rocks. Having produced fashion bi-annuals for many years, we understand the value of a design-first ethos, and are proud to bring together the best writers, photographers, talent and stylists to create a new interpretation of the jewellery category which will inspire both younger readers and collectors equally.”
The issue was due to publish yesterday, and editorial is added daily to somethingaboutrocks.com
According to the publisher, the first print issue includes:
Famous for her debut single, Leave (Get Out), JoJo opened up to Something About Rocks about planning her wedding with actor Dexter Darden (best known for his roles in The Binge and the Maze Runner film series), what happened when she met Beyoncé, and why she might take some time off music. Also in the interview, JoJo discusses her new single launched this year in collaboration with Mr Talkbox and PJ Morgan, and her latest EP Trying Not To Think About It which was released in 2021.
Actress Rose Williams, who plays Charlotte Heywood in drama Sanditon and is one of the UK’s rising stars on screen, discusses getting ready for the launch of Mrs Harris Goes to Paris with Jessica Bumpus, one of Something About Rocks’ editors-at-large. The film is a new and charming adaptation of Paul Gallico’s novel about a cleaning lady in 1950s London whose dream to own a Dior haute couture dress takes her on an extraordinary adventure to Paris. In the interview Rose confesses that she actually wanted to be a fashion designer before becoming an actress and she also speaks about working on her own script, a future project which will see the rising star assume a new position behind the camera.
Elsewhere in the issue, boxer Galal Yafai, tipped to be the next undisputed world champion, discusses his love of boxing and admiration for Mohammed Ali, as well as watches, jewellery and all things that glitter - especially world title belts. Alongside the exquisite high jewellery and timepiece shoots, TikTok stars Zion Sapong and Devenity Perkins also shot a jewellery and fashion story in LA with a host of American brands.
