The Financial Times (FT) says Swamp Notes explores the intersection of money and power in American politics, and the biggest themes driving policy, business and markets from Washington, New York and beyond.
Hosted by Marc Filippino, the podcast features some of the FT’s leading political commentators, including US national editor Edward Luce and global business columnist Rana Foroohar, alongside expert guests.
“Swamp Notes has distinguished itself in a crowded political podcast landscape with sharp, global analysis from FT reporters on the forces driving politics and the economy,” said Topher Forhecz, acting co-head of FT Audio.
“Given its growing audience and the public’s appetite for deeper understanding of this moment, we felt it was the right time to launch the show on its own feed so even more listeners can find it.”
Swamp Notes was created in 2024 as a spin-off of the FT’s award-winning newsletter by the same name, to cover the US presidential election.
The first episode was published on Saturday, 17 May.
