Telegraph’s Chris Ricketts joins Perform Media

The Telegraph Media Group’s Sales Director, Chris Ricketts, has joined global sports media group, Perform Media, as UK and Ireland Sales Director.

Ricketts, who joined the Telegraph in 2000, will have overall responsibility for the growth and performance of Perform Media’s UK and Ireland business. He will report to Jamie Wilson, Perform’s EVP.

“I'm thrilled to be leading Perform's commercial acceleration in the UK. Perform has mass reach thanks to owning goal.com and to our unrivalled publisher relationships,” said Ricketts. “We will continue to offer powerful solutions in the video, programmatic and content partnership arenas."

Ricketts will be responsible for delivering Perform Media’s overall strategy which is to launch and grow major digital media assets that delivers its content to sports fans both via its own sports brands and other market-leading media, creating a global sports audience for advertisers. He will look in particular at developing partnerships, product, audience reach and acquisitions.

Jamie Wilson, EVP Europe and Middle East, Perform Media, said: “Perform is still in growth phase both for audience and share of digital revenue. Our Sports content has multiple touchpoints on owned and operated platforms so we needed someone who understands the UK digital ecosystem inside out. We also wanted someone who could help us grow new audiences and partnerships, and spot opportunities to develop innovative products. Chris has great experience in all those areas.”

Ricketts joins Perform Media on 6 September 2016.
