The Telegraph says it will mark King Charles III’s Coronation with a wide range of editorial initiatives including features, supplements, live coverage, puzzles and podcasts involving a number of their senior journalists and commentators.
The Telegraph’s Coronation liveblog will follow all the major events and news over the course of the Bank Holiday weekend. The Telegraph will be providing reporting, analysis and commentary over the weekend from their royal reporters, as well as journalists from politics, features, opinion, lifestyle and fashion. Camilla Tominey, associate editor, will lead commentary on the day of the Coronation, alongside fellow associate editors, Gordon Rayner and Dominic Nicholls. There will also be an interactive procession route map and a specially created 3-D guide of Westminster Abbey, added the publisher.
To help readers celebrate the Coronation both in the UK and further afield, a range of digital features will be published on their dedicated digital hub. These include all the details of the event itself and how subscribers can host their own celebratory events. On May 6, readers will be able to play a variety of Coronation-themed puzzles in print and online including the Cryptic Crossword, PlusWord, Panagram, a Pub Quiz, Wordsearch and more. Subscribers will also be able to share memories and record their well wishes for the new sovereign in The Telegraph’s online book of congratulations.
To mark the Coronation, a new dedicated three episode podcast series, Being the King, presented by Simon Heffer, will be released on May 4. The episodes will focus on the King and the Constitution, the Commonwealth and his character. Special guests include Sir Nicholas Soames, a childhood friend of the King, and Sir Stephen Lamport, Private Secretary to the King as Prince of Wales in the 1990s.
In recognition of this historic moment, readers can buy the Telegraph’s Coronation Commemorative Edition, a Personalised Gift Book with reprints of original pages from The Telegraph archives as well as coverage from the Coronation itself. There is also a 1000 piece Jigsaw Puzzle by cartoonist, Blower, as well Matt’s special edition Coronation Cartoon from the Telegraph’s Coronation Shop.
