American soccer’s Tim Howard has been announced as DailyMail.com’s sports columnist.

Tim Howard new DailyMail.com sports columnist
Tim Howard: ”I'm delighted to be joining one of the fastest-growing, and best, teams in sports media and can't wait to get started with my new column.”

DailyMail.com says Howard is a US soccer great with a record 121 caps—the most of any goalkeeper in national team history. Alongside that, he has 399 Premier League appearances for Manchester United and Everton and was inducted into the US Soccer Hall of Fame in December.

He’s also instantly recognizable to millions as a superstar TV analyst for NBC, bringing his insights into the game with a unique and engaging style, added the publisher.

Now, he brings that experience exclusively to DailyMail.com, with three major soccer events on U.S. soil in the coming years: Copa America in 2024, the Club World Cup in 2025, and the World Cup in 2026.

DailyMail.com says Tim’s arrival is proof of the unrivaled ambitions of one of the fastest-growing sports team in US news. The publisher added that significant investments made since the summer of 2022 have resulted in a 36% surge in sports traffic, helped by its exclusives, interviews, and in-depth analysis across the US sports market.

In 2023 alone, the publisher says its sports page amassed 180 million page views, winning over fans with informed, entertaining, and comprehensive coverage across all sports—from the pitch to the locker room, what’s firing up our biggest sports stars off the field as well as on, and its Premier League coverage in America.

Tim said: ”I'm delighted to be joining one of the fastest-growing, and best, teams in sports media and can't wait to get started with my new column. I have been an avid reader of the Mail's sports coverage for years, throughout my time in the UK and now back in the US, and there's no better time to get started. Soccer is blowing up in the US, and there is so much to be excited about.”

DailyMail.com Sports Editor Ben Nagle added: “We are thrilled to welcome Tim on board in 2024 to contribute a regular column, offering his unique and unrivaled insights into the Premier League, the U.S. national teams, MLS, and a host of other engaging topics.

“He is already trusted by millions of TV viewers with his expert analysis and remarkable experience – readers definitely won’t want to miss him.”
