African Business magazine launches digital archive

The pan-African business magazine, African Business, published by IC Publications, has launched its extensive digital archive. 33 years, 375 issues, and over 40,000 pages of the monthly magazine are now fully accessible and searchable, on Exact Editions, as well as the iOS and Android apps.

IC Publications have worked with digital content specialists Exact Editions to digitise the archive of back issues, making decades of the magazine available at the tap of the button to subscribers of the print and digital edition alike. The African Business archive took advantage of Exact Editions’ new streamlined content management system for archives. The cost effective cloud-based process operates up to 10 times faster than previous methods, with minimal manual intervention, resulting in a high quality digitised archive, says Exact Editions.

33 years of reports on a wide range of sectors and industries, including transport, energy, finance, mining among others, are searchable and downloadable with the tap of button on African Business’ branded iOS app. The comprehensive search function allows subscribers to easily navigate the thousands of pages of business analysis. With the sync and bookmarking functions of the African Business app, a subscriber can access any page of any issue anywhere in the world with touch of a button, or swipe of a finger.

The extensive archive makes for a fantastic resource; available for universities, corporations and government organisations, who can take out a specialist network subscription utilising Exact Editions IP authentication technology.

We are proud to be able to show the history of the magazine and how it has developed over the years.”

Daryl Rayner, Managing Director of Exact Editions said: “It is fantastic to be able to offer this extensive archive to individual subscribers and institutions. This resource will prove popular with individual subscribers and a huge draw for academic institutions.”
