Exploring the label’s impact on 20th century culture, this special issue celebrates the place where rock’n’roll was born, from its founding in 1952 right up to the present day, says Anthem.
Inside this special edition, readers will find interviews with some of Sun’s band of session musicians, a look into the music made at the label, as well as profiles of the ‘million dollar quartet’. The issue not only celebrates the artists who first put the label on the map, but also delves into the story of the man who made it all possible – visionary producer and Sun Records owner Sam Phillips.
The magazine will be available to buy individually, or as part of an online-exclusive fan pack which includes four glossy art cards. These feature images of some of the most legendary Sun Records artists, including Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash.
Editor of Vintage Rock, Rik Flynn, said: “We love being able to create these special editions taking a closer look at some of the biggest influences on rock music. The Vintage Rock Presents Sun Records special celebrates the music, the artists and the stories of a record label like no other.”
Vintage Rock Presents Sun Records can be purchased online or from the newsstand from 5th December.
