In celebration of the new-look site, the publishers painted the town purple, by lighting up the Library of Birmingham at sunset last night.
The launch is part of a drive to better represent communities in and around Birmingham, says Trinity Mirror.
Birmingham Live is the newest brand from the team at Trinity Mirror Midlands, which also produces Birmingham Mail, Sunday Mercury, Coventry Telegraph.
