Digital Publishing Awards 2024 – winners announced

The Association of Online Publishers (AOP) celebrated its 22nd Awards yesterday, honouring the digital publishing industry’s top talent at an in-person ceremony, held at Old Billingsgate in London.

AOP’s flagship event was hosted by comedian Daliso Chaponda and recognised the individuals, teams and companies driving impressive growth in the digital publishing sector, says the AOP.

There were 27 category winners, including Jo Holdaway, Chief Data & Marketing Officer at Independent Digital News and Media Limited, who received the prestigious Bill Murray Award for Outstanding Contribution to Digital Publishing.

Categories were judged by a panel of digital industry experts under the guidance of co-chairs Karen Eccles, Chief Commercial Officer at The Telegraph, and Jonathon Whiteley, CEO, Real Deals Media.

“With a record-breaking number of submissions – from new and returning entrants across all categories and disciplines – we had more to celebrate this year than ever,” comments Richard Reeves, Managing Director at AOP. “As always, it was a pleasure to award those who set the benchmark for excellence in our industry. A huge congratulations to all the winners driving positive change in an ever-evolving media landscape.”

Among the other winners on the night was Jamie Carpenter from ENDS Report, who took home the Editor of the Year accolade, Channel Accelerator, who won Best Digital Publishing Innovation, and Pugpig, who was awarded Best Media Technology Partner. Meanwhile, Obomate Briggs from New Scientist won the Rising Star award.
