Following DMGT's successful reduction of its carbon footprint by 27% since 2012, the Group says it is hoping to build on that success by encouraging its employees to be environmentally conscious throughout 2016.
Each month, DMGT HQ will be taking part in activities with themes such as health and wellbeing, recycling, volunteering, charity partnerships and travel. Throughout the year, employees are being encouraged to be as competitive as possible as all challenges and activities will have a winner that will be announced at the end of Green Year.
Monthly initiatives at DMGT HQ include; pedometer challenges, Bears for Stairs step climbing challenge (using the DMGT CR mascot, 'The Polar Bear'), personal carbon footprint monitoring, voluntary work with a 'green' focus, reinvigorating the offices recycling points and a month of 'greener' ways to travel to and from work.
Stephen Daintith, CFO at DMGT, said, "We are really excited about Green Year and to see how DMGT HQ embrace the activities we have planned."
