Dutch edition of Vogue to launch

Vogue magazine will be launched in the Netherlands in 2012, it was announced yesterday by Jonathan Newhouse, Chairman of Condé Nast International.

The magazine will be published by the Dutch division of Gruner & Jahr, under licence.

“Holland is a thriving market in the heart of Western Europe with a growing hunger for luxury. It is natural for Vogue,” comments Newhouse.

The Editor of Dutch Vogue will be Karin Swerink (pictured), most recently Editor of Dutch Glamour, who so successfully launched the magazine in 2005. After 6 years at Glamour, Karin launches Vogue with a wealth of experience and relationships with industry contacts, from fashion photographers and stylists to advertisers.

This will be the nineteenth edition of Vogue worldwide. Vogue is published in the United States, Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Russia, Japan, China, Taiwan, Mexico & Latin America, Korea, Brazil, Greece, Australia, Portugal, India and Turkey.

Sabine Geurten is the new Editor of Dutch Glamour, it was also announced today. Sabine started her career at Elle magazine in 1992, subsequently working for publications including Marie Claire and Grazia. Sabine is recognised as one of the leading stylists in Holland and has been teaching fashion styling at the Artemis Academy since 2010.

Condé Nast currently operates in 25 markets, publishing 135 magazines, 98 websites and over 145 tablet and Smartphone apps under iconic brands such as Vogue, GQ, Glamour, Wired, Condé Nast Traveller, and Vanity Fair. Recent launches include Vogue in Turkey, Condé Nast Traveller in India and Russia, GQ in Brazil, and AD in China.
