After a long and illustrious career, says Demaur, Mike has decided that the time has come to hand over the reins of a business that he started over 40 years ago and enjoy more leisure time and travels with his friends and family.
From the early years of his career, in Fleet Street and Bloomsbury, he worked for paper mills, merchants and a paper converter merchant, before setting up Denmaur in 1980, with the support of his wife and his brother, Nick.
Mike says he has enjoyed being involved in a very social industry and cites the highlights of his career as being the many different people he has met along the way.
As part of this transition, Andy Buxton has become chief executive officer and Andy Faithful has been promoted to the role of managing director.
In a statement Denmaur says: “We are sure that his colleagues, customers and suppliers will all join us in wishing Mike a long, healthy and happy retirement.
“Together with the board of directors and wider Denmaur team, we are confident that Denmaur will continue to evolve and rise to the challenges of a changing economic market and paper industry.”
