Agenda publishes academic books for students and lecturers, as well as the interested general reader, in politics, economics, philosophy, human geography and sustainability. Edinburgh University Press (EUP) says this aligns with its vision of connecting people and ideas, publishing research in the social sciences and humanities. The acquisition of the complete backlist and a substantial set of forward contracts will enhance EUP’s profile in both politics and philosophy, says the publisher.
Alison Howson, publisher for Agenda, will transfer to EUP, providing continuity and ensuring a smooth transition for authors as well as the ongoing development of the list.
Nicola Ramsey, chief executive officer at EUP, said: “I believe EUP will offer an excellent home to the impressive Agenda programme and very much look forward to welcoming its authors and editors to the EUP community, and to publishing the fantastic books and series that make up this list.”
Steven Gerrard, director of Agenda Publishing, said: “We are delighted that our books and authors have a new home with EUP, a publisher that shares our commitment to publishing fresh ideas and thinking, and where the list can continue to grow and thrive.”
