FT and NYT expand hotels program

The New York Times and Financial Times this week announced that international hotels in select markets across Europe, Asia and the Middle East can now participate in their digital access program.

The program allows participating hotels to provide their guests with unlimited access to NYTimes.com and FT.com on any device connected to the hotel’s network.

Last year The New York Times and Financial Times began offering U.S. hotels the chance to purchase their own branded web portal that provides guests free entry into both NYTimes.com and FT.com. Participating hotels receive keycards they can give guests that explain how to access both sites.

Guests staying at hotels with this program receive free unlimited access to NYTimes.com and FT.com. NYTimes.com and FT.com normally require paid digital subscriptions for full access. NYTimes.com has a 10 article a month limit for non-subscribers.

The digital access program will be available to hotels located in South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, France, Germany, Russia, Belgium, Italy, Spain and Portugal at launch.
