FT appoints Veronica Kan-Dapaah

The Financial Times has appointed Veronica Kan-Dapaah as an assistant editor, joining its editorial senior leadership group, effective from 1 January 2023.

Kan-Dapaah is head of newsroom diversity and has been global head of video since 2013.

Financial Times editor Roula Khalaf said: “Veronica’s appointment is a tribute to her contributions to the FT’s multi-media achievements and a recognition of the crucial role she has played in advancing diversity in the newsroom. Her judgement and strategic advice are invaluable as we advance towards a more more inclusive newsroom, a strategic priority for the FT and for the excellence of our journalism.”

Veronica Kan-Dapaah said: “I’m delighted to join the leadership team and I feel privileged to have this opportunity to contribute to the FT’s future success. Having a diversity of perspectives is critical for producing the best journalism.”

Kan-Dappah is also a trustee of Financial Times’ Financial Literacy and Inclusion Campaign (FLIC), which aims to democratise financial education. Young people, women and disenfranchised communities are the main targets for FLIC’s output of free and engaging content.
