GQ launches weekly football podcast strike!

British GQ has launched a new podcast strike!, it was announced yesterday. Covering all things football, strike! the podcast will be the go-to source of information for any fan of the beautiful game, says GQ.

Hosted by GQ Style's "football crazy, football mad" Fashion Director, Elgar Johnson, strike! will feature an eclectic panel of current and ex-professional footballers, sports journalists, celebrity fans and many more followers of footie, who will break down the main talking points from the past week in football.

In Episode 1, Elgar welcomes Arsenal and England footballer Theo Walcott, former IBF Middleweight World Champion and Commonwealth Gold winning boxer and founder of 12x3 gyms Darren Barker, along with co-founder of football and fashion magazine, Mundial, Dan Sandison.

"Football fuels a never-ending discussion, from apocryphal transfer news to woeful TV coverage, sudden dips in form to unexpected runs of success, and from managerial idiosyncrasies to game plans that should never have been taken out of the bottom draw. GQ's strike! will contribute to that discussion - often with raised voices. As a brand that has always covered football in depth, we hope the GQ audience enjoys it... and joins in," commented Dylan Jones, Editor of British GQ.

Elgar Johnson added: "As a huge football fan and avid podcast listener, having the chance to combine the two and create strike! for a brand like British GQ is a match made in heaven."
