IOPP supports subscription initiative

IOP Publishing (IOPP) earlier this month announced it is part of the Government of India’s ‘One Nation One Subscription’ (ONOS) initiative, a move that it says ensures nationwide access to high-quality scholarly research for students, faculty, and researchers across India’s higher education and R&D institutions.

IOPP says its inclusion, alongside 29 other publishers, provides access to its content for institutions that previously faced budget constraints. By centralising subscription licenses and extending access to a wider range of institutions, ONOS is democratising access to research resources across the country. This initiative represents a significant step forward in supporting Indian researchers and readers of primary research content, the publisher continued.

Indian researchers are among the top three contributors to IOPP’s journals, consistently producing exceptional work that shapes the future of science, added the publisher. Recognising the contributions of researchers from India, IOPP says it launched the India Top Cited Paper awards, celebrating the most-cited articles by Indian authors in its journals.

IOPP says the ONOS initiative aligns with its mission to deliver impact, recognition, and value to the global scientific community while championing equitable access to research.
